Trigger Point Therapy Massage

Trigger Point therapy the location, activation and release of trigger points to overcome the aches and pains that they are associated with. Trigger points are small contraction knots in muscle tissue that affects the muscle by keeping it both tight and weak. At the same time, a trigger point maintains a hard contraction on the muscle fibres that are directly connected to it. In turn, these taut bands of muscle fibre keep constant tension on the muscle’s attachments, often producing symptoms in adjacent joints. The resulting accumulation of waste products as well as deprivation of oxygen and nutrients, can perpetuate trigger points for months or even years unless some intervention occurs. Trigger points can exist in two states, either active or latent. Active trigger points are those which cause discomfort. Latent trigger points wait silently in the muscle for a future stress to activate them.

Reflexology Treatment

Through the skilful application of pressure to specific points in the feet, a reflexologist joins in the silent dialogue within your body. Practiced in diverse cultures for centuries reflexology is much more than a good foot massage. For either preventive care or in response to physical or emotional distress, reflexology takes advantage of the 7000 nerve endings on the soles of our feet to create physical changes that can bring about balance, ease and healing.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic massage uses light, rhythmic touch to improve lymph circulation. If you are healthy improved lymph flow can promote your vitality and sense of well being. This supports the immune system and helps rid the body of wastes that can increase pain or cause fatigue. In scarred or otherwise injured areas, damaged cells and inflammatory wastes can be moved out, assisting in rehabilitation and healing.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage can decrease stress and improve relaxation, improve lymph drainage, benefit muscle tone and elasticity and have a balancing effect on glands, all of which dramatically benefit the expecting mother during pregnancy. These techniques include gentle holding, pressing with palms, thumbs, elbows on the merdians, and when appropriate, more dynamic rotations and stretches.
